A playground conducive to long walks in the heart of nature
Although it is not far from the center of Millau, the Château de Creissels is nonetheless located close to nature. Many trails and hiking trails can be found near the castle and can serve as a starting point for your walking adventures. From simple walks to long hikes, Millau is the heart of many pedestrian activities to take your eyes full. Not far from the hotel is the medieval village of Creissels. Full of charm and history, this village dating from the Middle Ages retains all its wealth of yesteryear with in particular its 13th century priory, which is to be seen. But also its aqueduct, its body of water or its access to the banks of the Tarn which make Creissels a peaceful place where silence, fauna and flora come together to transform your country walk into a real moment to recharge your batteries.

If you are rather looking for an activity along the water, boat trips are possible for a descent under the viaduct, the central point of the Millau hikes. These walks on the waves allow you to have a completely different point of view on the surrounding nature. Along its 9 kilometres, discover the wild fauna and, as a highlight, the troglodyte village of Peyre drawn directly from the rock.

You also have the possibility of taking a pleasant walk on the trail of the Cascades de Creissels. Nice hike in Millau, the Promenade des Cascades de Creissels is done in 40 minutes round trip. You will discover the importance of water in the village of Creissels by thinking not far from the Moulin de Tournal or the Homède waterfall.

Starting from Creissels is also the Corniches du Larzac walk. Longer and reserved for people a little more familiar with hiking, this walk starts at the same place as the Cascades de Creissels trail. After following the same path to the waterfall, this hike continues on its way and is usually done in 3h30. It is about 10 km long for 400 meters of elevation gain. It leaves from the Tarn Valley to arrive at the Causse du Larzac and allows you to discover all the richness of the Larzac landscapes and a breathtaking view of the Millau Viaduct.

For the more athletic among you, the favorable nature of our region and its hilly terrain are the ideal playground for surpassing oneself. Many trails exist around Millau. The Chrono Pouncho starts from the base of Pouncho d'Agast, the emblematic cliff of Millau, to reach its summit. 480 meters of D+ over 2.5 km of a course where the difficulties of the terrain and magnificent viewpoints mingle. The record is 10 round trips in less than 10 hours for the more adventurous.
